404 errors and solution

Hi chaps, I’ve searched but am still struggling to quite work out what I’m doing wrong because I don’t understand what the very clever Google is saying. I’m getting 404 errors, to describe one: the problem was detected on Oct 15, Google says last updated Oct 27. I thought I’d got rid of and tidied up the site but should I wait longer for google to crawl the site correctly, I’ve (I think) uploaded a new site map, here’s a screen grab for your edification:

Many thanks for your time Roger

This where care has to be taken working as a site administrator. Its
easy to change a page in Freeway, but that could mean links dropping
out of the search engines (yes they will get sorted next time google
trawls your site) But it does not help any of your site users than
might have bookmarked your pages, and now have links that do not work.

You could if you want to go that extra mile, set up a 404/500 error
page that either re-directs to another page or displays a site map
page with links.

Thanks David, fortunately this site is my own I think my problem is I don’t really understand the messages from Google, for instance the last one in the screen grab suggests (if I’ve got this right in my head) that at some point Google has found a link to:

http://www.rogerburton.co.uk/fway/video.html

but has failed to find it … fine, but I’m not aware that, at any time, have I created a page or directory called “fway”.

Confused
