A Mal's Shopping Cart not appearing question

I’m sure this has been covered many times here so I apologise for that, but when Add to Cart is selected I get the error message:

FREEWAY CONFIG

The shopping cart will automatically attempt to load a new configuration file when you change your settings in Freeway.

Sorry, it was not possible to load your new configuration: It was not possible to connect to your webserver at:

Please login to Admin and correct the URL in Your detail

I’ve done 3 or 4 other sites successfully and I’ve checked that the URL is correct, so not sure where the problem lies. In the Mal’s Cart Setup for this site I do not have a Freeway option at top left but in another site that works fine, I have.

If it’s relevant, part of the site is done in Freeway Pro4 (Buy Now pages) and the rest is done in Adobe GoLive. There are also two Mal’s accounts in this site (the new pages I have done) so payment goes to the respective payees. The relevant Mal’s E Shop settings are applied to the two respective accounts.

Thanks for any advice.

K.

I’m having exactly the same problem here. The entire site is written in Freeway Express 4.42

Well Richard, after Softpress Support and some great support from James at Have Host, the fault was mine. I had created 2 Sub folders inside the Site folder but hadn’t allowed for this is My Details in the Mal’s set up.

In this case merely using < mydomain.ext > was not enough, I should have added < /subfolder1/ > and < /subfolder2 > after < mydomain.ext >. And now it works.

Hope this helps.

Hi Kryten,

Thanks for that. Unfortunately, I don’t have any subfolders.

Rich

What error message are you getting? As long as you have entered the correct ID in FW and in Your Details at Mal’s you have entered the full URL inc. http://www.etc they should connect.

Found out that there was nothing wrong with either Freeway, Mal’s or what I did. I had to notify my web hosting company to allow Mal’s cart to read the cfg file. It had a mim association of a textedit file instead of an html file and was returning a 404 error as unreadable.
