Action: Graphic Link to PDF

I’m using the Action: Graphic Link to PDF on a site.

I don’t know now who created the Action and I cannot find it listed on
Walter’s ActionsForge site.

It would be great to have contact with the originator of the Action,
because I’m looking to have a small change.

Currently the action only allows you to select from a picklist then a
Finder window to select the file.

That’s all fine, but when I add another PDF to a list of existing PDFs
all the PDFs get uploaded every time, they vary fro 5–12 Mb so the
update can take some time and waste bandwidth.

I’d like to have added the possibility of, similar to the CMD-K picker
and option for external and typing in a link.

But I suppose like many thanks in Freeway, there’s a manual way, by
adding HTML code to link the file to a new window?? This might be the
quickest way to the result, anyone suggest the code to use?

Best wishes Peter

So similar it is the same - glad you got it sussed.

And it is not a bad idea if you have quite a selection of large files/pdfs like this to upload them separately (using an FTP app) and just use external links.

Hi Dave,

Yes, that’s what I did in the previous incarnation of the same site [10
years ago!], with the same PDFs, they were even stored on a different
server and they’re still there ;~}}

I just was not thinking straight, and I’d not even touched a drop!

Cheers P
