# action on blogger

can i add other than the action bloggers post, archive, and profile? so later when viewed in the page element, we can look create a new element to add?

Once you put it into Blogger you can add “Blogger Items” in the layout tab with stuff that can’t add in Freeway as of yet. I’m not sure if Softpress will add these “widgets” anytime in the future. There’s so many new ones or they rewrite the CMS script and things get changed up that it’d be hard to keep up.

Hopefully we’ll see.

Hi Thomas,

You can add elements and gadgets through the Layout section on  
Blogger, there is no way to do this through Freeway right now though.

If you want to manually add the elements (i.e. not do them through the  
Layout section I mentioned previously) you may be able to paste it  
into a Markup Item (found in the Insert menu). If not you will need to  
paste it into the code that goes into the Edit HTML section in Blogger.

In Freeway, you can add the elements that are provided by the Blogger  
actions. These are Archive, Header, Post and Profile. Within each you  
have a fair degree of formatting control over the ‘sub-elements’  
(especially if you set up tag-level styles for things such as H2,  
etc.):

```
 Archive
     title
     date
     post
 Header
     title
     description
 Post
     date header
     post title
     post/comment content
     author
     label
     comment header
     subscription
     links
 Profile
     title
     name
     detail
     profile link

```

For other Blogger elements, add those to the layout AFTER you’ve made  
your final Freeway layout and added the HTML template code to  
Blogger. Use the browser-based Blogger UI to modify the layout, but  
only once you’ve finished working with the layout in Freeway and have  
it working as desired (minus the other elements) as a working Blogger  
template.

Sorry Thomas - could you please add the appropriate protocol to any  
URLs you post (i.e. http:// in most cases), and test them as well?

I can’t see the image in the first link, and I’ve no idea what you

Thomas,

I doubt you’re going to get anyone on any IM client, let along Yahoo  
Messenger; we’re all fairly busy people! Sorry dude.

But I’ve taken a quick look at your Blogger test and I can see one  
problem immediately. You’ve put [http://a.com/](http://a.com/) in as the Web Address  
in the Document Setup window’s Upload panel. You MUST put in the  
domain name of wherever you upload this Freeway document to. That is  
how the Blogger page can find your images and style sheets.

Without any web space at all you won’t be able to achieve anything  
worthwhile in Blogger.

And do you have any examples of regular web pages that you’ve made?  
It might be better to experiment with a couple of normal web pages  
first, and only then try moving on to a Blogger template.

i am not upload from freeway but just copy clipboard my mac os not support internet connection so i am use vista ( dual boot ). But u have step by step add new action on blogger maybe .

So your Mac cannot connect to the internet, but your PC does. So what it sounds like you’re trying to do is insert the Blogger actions code into a PC related program, thus avoiding the action’s and Freeway all together and using the code then to create the Blogger template using another program.

Why don’t you just transfer the published code from the Action’s palette using Freeway and paste that into a TXT file and then go at it?

I don’t know how else to help you as this is not how it usually goes here.
