Add padding to Blogger Actions?

Is there a way or could Softpress make it possible to add padding to the Blogger Actions.

If I use a black background for my page but use a white background for the Blogger Post “box”, the text is right up next to the box and looks terrible when a different color background is used for the main page. Padding needs to be added to make it look right.

I so agree! I have been searching for a way to do this myself.

If you created the “Blogger Post “box”” by placing and html box on you page then you simply need to add padding to that html box. You do that from the Inpector pallet.

That’s just making a box within a box.

you should be able to pad just the Blogger item and not have to put it into another html box just to get padding.

Ok, you have to approach Blogger items slightly different. Instead of setting the padding in the Inspector pallet, you will have to use the Extended option directly on the blogger box.

Select the Blogger box you want to add padding to and ctrl-click/right-click on it. Select Extended from the menu and add padding to the “div style”. That will move the content away from edge of box.

Here are the steps I did:

  1. Add a Blogger box to your layout
  2. Select the box, then do a ctrl-click/right click on it to bring up menu
  3. Click on Extended in the menu options
  4. Choose “div style” from the 3 tab choices
  5. Click New
  6. In the Name field type “padding-left” without the quotes
  7. In the Value field type whatever amount of pixels you want as spacing, lets say 15px, then click Ok.
  8. Repeat steps 5, 6 and 7 but this time in the name field type “padding-right”
  9. Click Ok out of the Extended option

Now when you preview you should see 15px of space on the left and right sides of the box.

Thanks a lot for your help. It’s a struggle trying to learn a programme with no manual. I will try this out later.

I tried this out and although it works for the left, the right hand side flows out further, running into the next column. Any suggestions please?
