I have moved everything (well, everything that was left) to a new
server at Joyent. (Carrier-grade hosting, very very very reliable.) I
had been meaning to do this for some time, but I wasn’t looking
forward to moving 1.5 million rows of data.
All of that data seems to be irretrievably lost.
My repeated and increasingly frantic e-mails to the support desk at
my former host (who shall remain nameless, but their name starts with
an X) have gone unanswered. I was able to log into the database using
Navicat, but there were only 1163 hits to move, and REPAIR TABLE did
nothing to change that.
If you don’t see anything at http://freewaypro.com, try opening a
Terminal window and issuing this command (you don’t need any special
privileges for this to work):
lookupd -flushcache
You should see the new server almost immediately, unless your ISP has
cached the stale DNS information.
Otherwise, the service will catch up in a few days. It may also take
a few days for your hits to start piling back up, due to the way that
DNS works in general.
Again, very truly sorry for the implosion.

Something awful has happened at my hosting provider, and the entire
FreewayPro / FreeCounter service is off-line. I am able to get in
through the back door and get data out, but the database server seems
to have gotten corrupted, as it is only reporting having 1163 hits
(and it usually hovers around 1.5 million at any given time).
I am trying to repair the database and recover the data to another
server, but it isn’t looking good at the moment.
I will post again when I know anything different. I am going to move
this service to another server and change DNS, so likely in a couple
of days everything will be up and running again.
