Alien Skin filters

Hi
I’m wanting to purchase some filters akin to the Alien Skin Eye Candy collections which I have tried as is okay.

Before I buy does anyone suggest anything better than eye candy?

Thanks

David

I don’t know about better but years ago (back in the Photoshop 3 days- sometime in the mid-90’s) I spent a fair amount of time creating Photoshop filters with Filter Factory - a free filter compiler that shipped with the application. Shortly after the release literally thousands of filters created with FF appeared online as well as a number of other filter compilers.

I don’t think the original Filter Factory is still available but if you are interested have a look at the free Filter Foundry (http://www.telegraphics.com.au/sw/) or the commercial Filter Forge (http://www.filterforge.com/). Both allow you to explore and create your own filters or import filters created by others.

FF tools are great to work with if you know what you are doing or can spend the time exploring. if you are looking to simply produce the effect you are after and get on with something else then a pre-rolled filter set like Alien Skin may be better suited to you.
Regards,
Tim.
