align objects to page

How to align objects or groups of objects to the center of your page?

There isn’t an “align to page” option. The best way to do is probably to create a rectangle that covers the entire area you want to align to, send it to the back, lock it and align to that.

It’s not so easy to create a rectangle of the exact same
size of the page. It would be easy if there would be
an option to set a grid in % steps … 10% 20% …

Actually, I just did so. Make any rectangle and get info. Set the x and y coordinates and change the delta x and delta y to whatever. It takes inches as a parameter if you type ‘##.# in’, then converts it back to points.

FWIW, you can generally specify dimensions in any units you wish and Intaglio will display them in the default for the drawing set in the Measurements dialog.

Maybe this works “generally” but it sure doesn’t work for anyone doing survey work in decimal feet. Set the units to Feet and the fraction to 1.XX (hundredths). Any dimension typed in decimal feet is displayed in feet and decimal inches.

At least this is the way it work in the version I’m using. Has it bee corrected in Version 3?

The way it works in the current version is to show decimal feet if “show units” is turned off, but feet and inches if units are shown. Perhaps it should show decimal feet if you’ve chosen a decimal style fraction and feet and inches if you select a fraction for the fraction style.

That would be the most logical way for it to work. I really thought
it would and was surprised that when I selected feet and 1/100 it
still showed feet and inches.

Tried 3.0b2 and the decimal feet work as expected. that’s great.

However, I could no longer select an arrowhead using “more” from the
Path and Stroke Width menu. I used this more often than setting it
using the inspector.

Also the Beta version would not accept my serial number, so I am
unable to save work.
