An Apple Mail and an Outlook Express question

Apple Mail. Would I be right in thinking that Mail stores every attachment in emails Sent somewhere? If so where is it? It must need a clear out by now.

Outlook Express (XP): Where does the wonderful Windows store all its emails? I have had to it setup on another PC and it would be SO useful if I could transfer in all emails in. The drive is okay but I want them duplicated on another machine.

Hi Kryten,

On the Mac, you’ll find a file for each message in a set of folders that
match the names you see in Mail’s left-hand panel, ** be aware Lion now
hides the Library folder, you’ll need something like TinkerTool [or you
can add a “Visibility” option to the Find in Finder see Apple
discussions:
How do I search hidden files? - Apple Community] to expose
hidden folders/files, this is the location in Snow Leoprd:

~/Library/Mail/V2/ then look for whichever your named mailbox

folder/Inbox.mbx/some random names/Data/Messages or /Attachments

Then on a PC Outlook Express stores its mailbox “blob” file here:

 C:Documents and Settings<User>Local SettingsApplication

There’s help here about moving to another computer:

Cheers Peter

On Apple Mail

Go into User folder on the hard drive
and then into the library folder
in that you will find a folder called Mail Downloads

and they are all in there
