anchor shut dowm the app...

Hello. Is that posible that an anchor makes so inestable the app that it shuts down when you publish? A message is shown, like one or more files doesnt belong to this site… bla bla bla… and the app shuts down. Whan I delete the anchor everything is ok…

Any similar experience?

THanks.

… bla bla bla…

It may help to know…

  1. What version of Freeway you’re using
  2. What version OSX you’re using
  3. What specific error messages are shown

Anchors are, by themselves, not app-crashing things. With the right help,
they might be… so how and to what you are applying the anchor to might also
be helpful.

Hello. Thanks for your answer. when I wrote bla bla bla was because I supposed all f you knows the rest of the message because we all use the same prgram.

The app doesnt show an error message, just shut down. Im usin Fway 6.0.8 and MACOS 10.8.5.

And about the way of using anchors, I have changed to put the link in a text, instead of an image, and by the moment its working properly.

Thanks for your help.

Well, forget my last message. I wrote it before opening my work today, because last night, I could work properly for the last 30 minutes, but today, the same… I delete the link to the anchor and it works. So, it should be a problem with this…

No, we don’t… and that’s all I was getting at. People here use 5, 6, 7… on
different versions of OSX. Each combination comes with it’s own unique set
of issues.

Historically, Freeway has had problems with certain font-types at a system
level. Other than that, I never experienced any anchor issues –
specifically in v6 with osx up to 10.9… I didn’t use anchors a lot
(technically, any ID attribute is already an anchor) but I have used them
enough to not have crashing issues.

The only crash issues I seem to have had with Freeway is that magic point
where a site becomes fairly big and complicated… eventually some crashiness
starts happening. So I either do the Save Two Step (every other thing is
save) or what I did which was break site construction down into less
complex parts. Even now, I perform a Save command After Every Publish,
Before Every Preview.

As Softpress still supports v6 (I think) you should send them an email
directly. You may need to archive your file and send it to them (they will
ask for it first, if needed). They will ask if you can repeat the problem,
and if yes, what steps to take to do that. Also, your mac should keep a
crash log (mine wants to email Apple with every crash, so that is where I
find the system record of the crash). Of course, anything else they ask
from you.

Best of luck.

Thanks a lot for your answer. Perhaps in this site I have lots of things at the same page (with editable web-yep items), but this was the idea, not to go out. Im working without the anchor, and when the site will be finished, I will set it on again and publish, the last one.

As you say, I always save. Im video editor in real time (most of the times), and know the importance of saving… lot of work lost if you dont save or have an auto save (in my FCP every 2 minutes)

Thanks for your comments. I was going to upgrade to v7, but still had not time… So, this is the moment to do it, and if the problem persists, I will not hesitate to write support guys.

Thanks.
