Anchored Links in EE

I tried to create anchors and links to page content in my EE site so I can easily link to content in a long page and return to the top of the page with links at various places on the page.

When I tried to upload the site, I got a javascript error in the EE resource action and the page wouldn’t upload to my server.

Is there a setting in the resource action that will allow page anchors and links to work?

Thanks for any help,

Bill

Hmmm. I’ve never thought about that. How did you try to implement them?

Hi Joe,

Like I normally would in FW…create the anchors and then create normal links to the anchor.

But with “normal FW” content? Not within the EE Tags area or anything like that?

Correct, like I normally would in a static FW site. Only page or item action was the EE resource action besides the anchors and links.

And just to add, the EE resource action showed a javascript error that I tried to clear but it just wouldn’t work with the anchor and links. When I removed those, the action worked fine.

I will have to test this and get back with you.

Thanks Joe, I’m not in a rush, my client hasn’t said anything yet.

I’m guessing it’s how EE treats links but going from page navigation links work fine, it appears to only affect links within the same page?

If it’s the Action throwing the error, it has nothing to do with EE at all.

I made on almost all of my article pages links to anchors, they work fine. The link even triggers behaviour in EE like calling segments from the database. I made a 1x1 px transp gif as basis for the anchor.
result to be seen like here:
http://www.monumentmaker.nl/index.php/funerair/grafteken/robin_is_niet_meer_alleen/ scroll down, click on ‘reageren’ link goes toe anchor #meer/comment, calls segment in EE page expands. You stay on the same page that is. (Saves making extra template)

Hey Bill,

Can you send me the file directly? I can’t seem to reproduce it here. I don’t need the media or fonts, just the FW file itself. See my profile for my email address if you need it.

Hi Joe,

The site is live so I had to remove all the anchors and links on the problem page. I’lll add a few of the links back.

Also, I’ll have to figure out how to send the file…haven’t tried that before. Will send later tonight or tomorrow night.
