[ANN] Form Element CSS Action

Hi,
this Action allows you to style Text Area and Text Field form elements - change the colour, font, font size and borders of the Action. The Action also locks the size of the element to the size it’s displayed in the Freeway layout, so there should be fewer surprises when viewing your forms in a browser.

To download the free Action, and see some examples of styled form elements, visit this URL:

Paul,

that is indeed an excellent action, and free too. Many, many thanks for your efforts, especialy the way in which you can lock the size of the element to that which is displayed in Freeway.

[ANN] Form Element CSS Action

Hi Paul … neat and sweet bud.

Does the action work with FW 5.0 only or FW 4.0 as well?

Kind regards RogerG

Hi all,
Glad you like the Action so far - I’m currently working on allowing image backgrounds for form elements as well.

Roger: it may work with FW4 - but I’ve not tested it. The preview certainly won’t work, the rest may. It}s not doing anything exotic. I think you may find not having the WYSIWYG feedback a bit of a drawback, though.

Ok - the Action now lets you use an image as a background, and there are a few controls to let you position the cursor in the form element. You should be able to get some pretty unique forms with this Action now.

Wow! You just don’t know how timely that is for a prospective client’s
multiple form pages. Now I can control a distinctive look for each one
-especially for the different text entry areas.

Thanks for your time and effort - I’m sure echoed by many others.

Hello everyone,

Is there a definitive page where all of the Freeway actions are listed?

I keep seeing replies stating that a certain action can be found here,
or another action over there, but it would be nice if there was a
single page with the action names, a brief description for each one
and a link to the appropriate download page somewhere.

Maybe there is and I’ve just missed it!

thanks
Trev

There are a few individual sites, but this will end up being the central
repository:

http://www.actionsforge.com/

Great work Walt.

Best wishes Peter

Marvellous, that’s exactly what I was getting at. How did I miss that
one then, I wonder?

thanks

Fantastic Paul, your webpage shows that it should do the business.

BUT when I download the Action and install it, what’s visible in the
“Actions” palate shows as far down as “Border Colour” everything below that
is missing?

The Action file is dated 10:20 today???

Best wishes Peter

Let me know how you get on. I’m always interested to see how my Actions are used.

Will do. But it might be a short while before I can show anything
publicly.

Hi,
what version number are you showing? The version that I uploaded yesterday is 1.0b6

That’s why I gave you the file data, there is no revision number on the FW
Actions panel or in the Get Info about the disk file.

I’ve just downloaded the file again, with the same result.

This all sounds like ISP caching if you ask me.

I have changed the file name referenced on the page: http://www.actionsworld.com/formelementcss.php

That should hopefully solve that problem.

Oh - please don’t send me Freeway files unless I ask for them.

Hello Paul

Useful Action because it fixes the size of the form, but it seems to remove the normal styling for forms - i.e. the form doesn’t have the drop shadow around the top and left hand edges and when clicked in Firefox the form isn’t highlighted with a blue border

or am I missing something?

Can anyone help

Thanks

Mark
