[ANN] ReadFeed 0.4.1

Introducing LIMITED support for Atom feeds in the ReadFeed scraper.
All this new system does is strip off the atom namespace within the
XML, which lets the ultra-simple XML parser in ReadFeed deal with tags
that are named beginning with atom:.

In a normal RSS feed, you will see a tag like <updated>, but Atom
uses tags that look like <atom:updated>. While you might try adding
those names directly to the Elements field in the Action, it won’t
work that way. While this version won’t allow you to take advantage of
all of the Atom features, it will let you try to use them at all, so
that’s a step forward.

I finally got around to updating my ReadFeed action from version 0.4.0 to 0.4.1.

Unfortunately when I checked my site after the update the usual list of links was replaced by “XML error: mismatched tag at line 3”. Reverting to v0.4.0 of the action restored everything back to normal. Deleting and re-applying the new action still resulted in the same error.

The working page with v0.4.0 of the ReadFeed action can be seen at http://www.dundeemuseumoftransport.co.uk/

The source of the RSS for this page is http://news.dundeemuseumoftransport.co.uk/feeds/posts/default?alt=rss

Hopefully this is something that can be easily fixed but, as I’m sticking with the old action for the time being, it’s not an urgent request.

Many thanks

Gordon

Is there a way to let Freeway or a script calculate the total amount of money for all the orders that have been filled in on this page?

Yes - you can certainly do it with javascript

Have a look at http://www.deltadesign.co/odds/tomscalculator.html for an example which uses Protaculous
