I’d say a big YES… along with ABOUT pages and such.
This article discusses how Social Media is changing how we use the web… my point would be that Search Engines have already rendered any page as a “landing” page. Just looking at stats for the website that I manage, I’ve long noticed how people don’t always come and go in that old forced presentation way… Users enter a site based on the search criteria they are following… forcing them to discover content in a scripted way is just no longer relevant, so it’s more important to allow the user to create his or her narrative with the content you provide. Otherwise, we can become the equivalent of chefs serving 90% garnish.
