Oh, and just for fun, I made them draggable so you can move them on
screen and see the transparent effect. (This has nothing to do with
the basic CSS speech-bubble trick, it’s just a little extra.)

Very cool cartoon speech-bubble effect with CSS and no images. I
have a demo here:
I’ve made one and linked it at the example page. Note that the
original example was hand-coded, there’s really no way to do this
except by stepping way outside of the box that Freeway gives you.
In order to translate this into Freeway, all that hand-coding has to
be done in the Item / Extended dialog. Which works, but is very non-
WYSIWYG in the design view.
I’ve made two different examples. In the first, the bubble box has the
arrow as an inline element, up in the upper-left corner, and then I
use the Extended dialog to cancel out Freeway’s “inline” positioning
and move the arrow outside its parent.
In the second, I used the Inspector to position a “child” div outside
of its parent (you can’t drag these elements to this position, but you
can move them numerically). This meant fewer layers of code in the
Extended dialog, so note the differences there.
Also, note that Freeway won’t let you make an element 0px square, even
though that’s what the recipe calls for. The effect seems to work okay
when the arrow element is 1px square, but you might notice trouble in
certain browsers from the northwest of the US (haven’t tested, but
they’re an easy target).

Hi Walter!
Would it be possible to have FW sample siles available for download
on the ‘sripty’ page?
Read back to the top of the thread, there’s a link to my Scriptaculous demo page. If you’re looking at this in Mail, and have come late to the party, you can read the entire thing here: http://freewaytalk.net/thread/view/48670

No, I don’t see it here. It probably was one of those things I did and
then closed the file without saving. Just follow the steps, it really
does work pretty much as advertised.

Walter, any change that you got the slider somewhere in FW file -
the demo you have on your scripty page? Would really appreciate it!
