backdraft and text

Good afternoon all.

I have a backdraft website I am working on. Until it is done I have made a splash in backdraft for it.

The problem I am having is that the words are bleeding over to the right which then causes the rest not to resize properly.

any help would be appreciated.

the url is:

Hi Julie,

the correct name of this list should be:

“Backdraft and Graphic Text”

which never will work together.

So either use alternative FONT (Web compatible ones), or Caxton/WebFont action or …

… no I don’t recommend this.

Cheers

Thomas

the words are images, not text - so your images are bleeding when the page
is resized. Try using real text.

Thanks Erine and Thomas!

I had a feeling that was the problem… but wanted to ensure it…

The reason why you should rarely - if ever - use graphic text with Backdraft is because graphic text can’t flow like regular (HTML) text will. When the box around it shrinks, it can’t rearrange itself and take up more vertical space.

It’s like the difference between ice and water. Ice is stuck in the shape that you froze it in, whereas water is a liquid and can change its shape depending on the size of the container.

Graphic text frozen in time and space, much like ice or the CD in your old iMac.
