BTW, beautiful site! Would you mind if I emailed you about featuring it on Backdraft’s website?

Hi Caleb.

That fixed it perfectly - thanks!

I have a few more bits to sort out before the site goes live, hopefully in early January, but yes feel free to email me at email@hidden.

Hi again!

I am nearly done on the site, but I’m having a couple of little glitches that I can’t seem to fathom.

On the page: http://www.northsouthdesign.info/Menus/maincourses.html and on other similar pages the right hand sidebar is disappearing off the edge of the page as I scale it down. It doesn’t appear at all when I check on my iPhone.

The other problem I’m having is that the logo on the top left hand size is not scaling on my phone and is creating a white gap down the right hand side of the phone screen.

Any help would be great as I want to get the site live asap.

Cheers.

Shaun

Shaun,

It looks like I might need to take a saw and hammer to the CSS to switch up some selectors. Could you send the Freeway file to me? Directions and email address here.

I realise all the posts on this site are old, but I have only just discovered Backdraft and am hopeful that I will be able to do great things with it as I use Freeway for my only web design tool.

Can anyone confirm if it is still supported and where I can find help using it?

Hello Alex!

Even though it has been quiet recently, Backdraft is still alive and fully operational in the current version of Freeway 7, and you can get help at Premium Support | Backdraft: The Responsive Framework for Freeway

However, in the interest of full disclosure, I have no plans to update it until Softpress rolls out the next big update to Freeway, primarily because nobody has reported any bugs with the latest version.

Caleb , no offense intended to you or your wonderful efforts in developing and providing Backdraft.

But if SoftPress rolls out the next major update of Freeway without full and complete built in “Responsive” support and capabilities (along with many other various modern standards, etc.,), then they would have completely missed the intention or purpose of coming back to be a part of modern web development with there product.

Agreed. But there is usually room for a framework, even in the world of hand-coding where we have access to all the responsive features available on the web, we still have Bootstrap, Foundation, Neat and many more.

Hi Caleb, thanks for a very quick reply - didn’t expect to get an answer from the man himself. Let me first of all thank you, for what seems to be my life-saver, although I’ve still to master its capabilities (I keep getting messages from Google, telling me that my existing web sites are not mobile friendly) - my old brain is a bit slow on the uptake, it’s taken me several years to use Freeway, after a few years learning Dreamweaver before that. I’m now hoping that the new Freeway (if it ever actually appears) will not need a huge learning curve.

I’ve used the link you sent me, as far as I can, but I’ll just have to keep viewing your tutorials until it sinks into my brain.

Look forward to any other tutorials you might have the time to post.

I am not trying to make you or Backdaft obsolete. Perhaps you can build upon what they implement to make it further easier for users. I am just curious what direction they will chose to go. But if the things I mentioned above are not directly inherent in the next major Freeway update, then the effort to return and continue on would have all been for nothing. IMHO.
