Background images and page stretching and shrinking

Hi Alvaro

You can create a responsive layout in Freeway 7 by doing two things:

  1. Use inflow CSS items with flexible widths
  2. Adapt your layout for different media widths (breakpoints)

There is an “Extended Reference Guide” on the support page of our website, which contains instructions on how to do this.

The way to create an inflow CSS item is to turn on CSS layout and insert an HTML box when you are in text-editing mode (there is a text cursor). Don’t create layer boxes — they don’t work well with flexible layouts. Unfortunately, you can’t convert a layer box into an inflow box, or vice versa, within Freeway — but you can get around this by cutting and pasting: cut the layer box and paste it back when you have a text cursor.

The easiest way to create a responsive layout (at least in the first instance) is to use a responsive template that already contains flexible items and breakpoints.
