Background Music

Is it possible to have music playing on a freeway produced site?
If so can it be fitted with a stop/start type button?
I remember experimenting with this earlier this year but it’d only work when viewed on a Mac running Safari or Firefox - my pc spouted a warning ‘application not found’ type thing (as PC love to declare with regularity)
Thanks

You should read this article:

Personally, I hate background music!!

That’s an amusing item, but it doesn’t help. My client has asked me to provide something on a particular page, and I’ll do my best to do so. The customer is always right as they say.

I also dislike background music on a site, but obviously musicians find the web indispensable in disseminating their music.

I swear I saw (but cannot now find) a German educational site that had three Quicktime players on the same page demonstrating orchestral instruments. You could play one at a time or all three together. This has great potential for user interactivity.

Maybe someone from Softpress support can help you make a player for background music- just stay away from bluegrass

I think it could work to simply drag’n drop a MP3 file onto your site! It seems to me that it automatically starts on page load, and the user can always just click the Pause button!

If you draw an HTML box, then press Apple-E to import your MP3, you should see a set of controls in the Inspector that allow you to set/disable auto-play. Check all the tabs.
