Background sound uninterrupted

Good morning my friends,

A client of mine wants a background sound on her site !
I taught that was an easy one: just ad the action to the master page and done ! But now, when browsing the site, each time that I go to another page, the bkg sound restarts from the beginning ?? I want to avoid that, in a way that the sound plays on during browsing, not starting over and over?
Can this be done?

Thx
Johny

Walk up to the devil, hand him or her your immortal soul, and wrap the
entire site in a Frameset. Make one frame 20px tall, and put the sound
controls on a page in that frame. Make the other frame indeterminate
height, and put the rest of your site there. That’s one way, but it’s
really pretty destructive – a frameset breaks the Web because it
makes it very difficult to bookmark individual pages or to navigate
from outside into a single page while maintaining the outer frame.

Another way to do this is to have a “Music Player” daughter window,
launched with a click on a Spawn New Window control, and put the music
controls there. The visitor clicks on the player icon, a small window
pops us, and from then on the visitor can listen and browse – they
can even keep the music playing while they work on their checkbook at
the bank site.

But please explain to your client that music playing on page load is
extremely off-putting and discourage a background sound without any
form of control. That way lies visitor defection.

I’ve used an iFrame to similar effect. The sound lives on the containing page and will play continuously as long as all content loads into the iFrame and not a separate page.
