Since this post is so old, maybe someone can offer new advice and info on how to avoid the spammers on a forum. Or a good forum tool.
After a painful experience with mass spammers (300 a day) on a forum I set up for my client through his hosting company - NetFirms - I am looking for new forum advice. I am a designer, not a super techy person, and of course need a forum that doesn’t require constant monitoring to delete and block these guys, only to have them find a new way in the next day.
Any new thoughts or advice on the subject?
Thanks!
http://getvanilla.com/ Clean, flexible and well designed. I’ve only
installed it on a dev server to check out so I can’t comment on real-
world security features but it is a well-written piece of code.
