Better Meta Action

I have sites being converted from FW6 to 7 which already have an overriding page title the Retitle Page Action, and page description information in the Page/Meta Tag… menu option.

What happens to this information if I apply the new Better Meta Action? Does one override another or will there be a conflict?

Thanks.

I have a problem with Better Meta on one page. The fields in the Better Meta form are blank but when I view the source in a browser I see the content which I removed. I think the action does not verify the string input into the form correctly. I believe I cut and pasted a string with an end of line twice and it triggered a javascript error and I can not get rid of it now.

For example, the HTML output viewed in Safari’s show page source has (note I added [\n] where a line feed appears):

[\n] So Deserving by Thomas Arvid[\n] So Deserving by Thomas Arvid[\n] [\n]

There is no duplication show in the inspector palette and that field contains “So Deserving by Thomas Arvid”.

Sometimes it is difficult to see what is actually in the field in the Action Dialogue box. It is well worth triple clicking in the field to select all the text (and/or Cmd A) - then delete and retype it in.

Thanks DeltaDave.

The Cmd A correctly selected everything and I cleared those fields.

But, the result still had a trailing space although each of the fields in the Better Meta form were blank. The inspector palette did show a trailing space or whatever it was. So I Cmd A and deleted that field and typed the same back. No more problem.
