big problem

Dear people,

My problem is,
i have a graphic picture and when you rollover with the mouse a textballoon needs to appear and needs to go away when you leave the graphic. But thats not the only issue. When the textballoon pops up he going over other graphic pictures…
Can anyone help me to discribe how tot do this… By the way i am using Freeway 4 Pro.

Met vriendelijke groet.

Are you saying you WANT the same information to appear when hovering over multiple pictures? Or that the problem is that the popup does not disappear when over other items?

If you want the popup to only be in one specific spot on the page, then you could probably get away with some sort of setup with the Rollovers and Slave Show/Hide actions built into FW.

If you want the text balloon to follow the mouse, or similar, then there are several Javascript libraries that do this (and many others no doubt):

http://www.bosrup.com/web/overlib/

Or the built-in plugin for the Mootools library as demo’d here (known as Tips):
http://demos.mootools.net/Tips

CAUTION: shameless plug following -
The mootools setup can be easily added with the commercial mootools suite action set from:
http://www.coastalrugs.com/Actions/
mootools Tips use the ‘title’ information as the source for their content. CSS selectors are used to decide which items on the page receive this treatment. there are pros and cons:

Pro:

  • ease of application, if possible the tips are created and shown

Con:

  • limitation on content. Only text can be shown in the Tips.

Hi

Is this the sort of thing that you want

http://www.deltadzine.net/test/rollover.html

Rollover applied to the images with Slave show/hide layer applied to the text containers - which can be placed anywhere on the page.

David,

I notice you have this strange code/bug showing on your page in Safari 3 on your example

http://www.deltadzine.net/test/rollover.html

Are you with Have-Host?

Yes I am

I have been looking out for “the strange bug” but I haven’t actually experienced it yet.

It is now:

I am sure James will have it eradicated shortly.
