Buggy, buggy, buggy

I finished my site – totally, everything was working grrrreat, all the previews were clicking along fine.

Then, for no apparent reason, I started to get the “Resources missing” warning. i started to fix a few but then noticed I was getting them on all my pages, and not always the same resource. As well, when I “fixed” the resource in the “Edit Resources” box, it screwed up my pages.

What gives?

(I find that Freeway sometimes will shudder a bit on something, then the site slowly starts to fall apart. It has happened to more more than once, even when I haven’t done anything.

When you import an image into Freeway, a low quality copy is made
internally for viewing the image in the design view, when you publish
the site a new version of the image is created and placed inside the
Site Folder (usually in the Resources folder but this depends on your
settings). When Freeway generates the images it looks for the original
to base it on, this makes sure the image will be the best quality
possible (based on your settings). If the original image isn’t
available Freeway will let you know that it can’t be found and that
it’s going to use the internal, low quality, copy to generate the image.

This will happen, when the originals have been deleted, moved to a
place that is inaccessible by Freeway, or were on a disk that has been
disconnected. To prevent the error from happening (and to make sure
you use the best quality images) you’ll need to relocate the originals
using the Edit>Resources dialog. Don’t be tempted to look in the
Resources folder of the Site Folder and use these, they will be lower
quality than the originals and it can cause even more problems. Let
Freeway manage what’s in the Site Folder, consider it as Freeway’s
representation of your documents design, in folder form.

Okay, where exactly are you getting your images from? Are you going
into your Site Folder, finding published graphics from within there,
and putting those into your layouts?
