Button action

I’ve been looking at the button action and its a welcome addition but they tend to look a little flat and lack the kind of 3D effect which can be seen from something like Button Builder. This is partly down to the way the reflections are shown but mainly I think due to the lack of dark contour at the edge of the buttons which is needed to give them more depth. Is there any way that this action could be extended?

I have version 4 and can’t see it anywhere. In version 5 there is an item action called Buttons.

The Buttons action only shows up for graphic items. As to the quality of the button artwork, it is a bit limited, but the fact it’s built in to Freeway makes it useful. You can still use the stand alone app Button Builder and bring the resulting button artwork into Freeway as a png or jpeg.

That’s what I’ve been doing. It just would have been nice if the feature in Freeway was expanded a bit to at least match what I can do with a simple freeware app.

But always do it as a PNG! That format is non-lossy, whereas JPEG
always throws away image data, damaging the appearance - even if only
subtly.

Freeway always outputs web-optimised graphics, regardless of what
format the imported original might be: PSD, TIFF, PNG, PDF, etc…

(If you use Freeway Express, use PNG. You can’t read native Photoshop
formats, but you can read PNG. And that format supports true 8-bit
transparency, perfect for compositing things in your page layout.)
