Calendar Popup Action

Before you all get over excited there is no action - yet…

Head on over to:

http://mmuller.site40.net/create.php

and if you like the effect (taken from vlaCalendar (so anyone can implement it themselves if they want too)) then leave some feedback and I will have a go at creating a simple action to embed this into a text form field.

This looks really neat! By the way, if you do go down the road to
make this an Action, you might want to look for a similar calendar
effect based on Prototype.js rather than MooTools. This will ease
compatibility issues for you with Freeway’s core Scriptaculous
effects. Moo and Prototoype (which Scripty depends on) do not like
each other at all. http://scripteka.com has a large collection of
Prototype-based Stupid Browser Tricks™, ripe for the plundering.

There is work under way in both Prototype and Scriptaculous to remove
this conflict, but it’s nowhere near ready for the world. Further,
even if they did get that issue sorted, you would still have two
relatively large JavaScript libraries linked to your page, which
would make loading time really preposterous.

walt,

Thanks for the heads up about scripteka - will head on over there later tonight and see what’s about as I have already had a few issues with this script not playing fair ! Have had to cajole it into working in its current format already.

Best Regards,
