Can’t search for any content

Hi

Got a problem with my new site, I’ve run all the copy in Html and added it as a site with google webmaster tools last week. I’ve now tried to do a search for a line of copy on my home page and nothing shows up in the search results, could someone please help and explain why this is happening??

Many thanks for any advice in advance.

Ian

Hi Ian,

First of all, Google spiders things when it likes. No amount of
submitting sites will do anything more than ensure Google knows it
exists. It is good to do that, but it won’t work magic.

Second, Google puts things into the indexes in its own sweet time;
you can’t make it like you that quickly. As Diana Ross once sang,
“you can’t hurry love”. Actually, the rest of the chorus is pretty
relevant too:

 You cant hurry love
No, you just have to wait
You got to trust, give it time
No matter how long it takes

Good early SEO advice there from the Supremes! Let’s hope you won’t
have to listen to Ms Ross’s 1971 solo hit (“I’m Still Waiting”) for
too long…

In the meantime I suggest reading about the Google sandbox effect:

Thanks Keith

I’ll have a read while I’m waiting!
