"Cannot complete upload because file not found"

I used a Link to PDF Action to attach a PDF to a site. However, when I try to upload the site, I get the error above (“Cannot complete upload because file not found”) when the PDF is being uploaded.

The file is located in the same folder where the rest of the Freeway files are. I’ve re-associated it in the Action. Often, it will work if I try to upload the site again immediately after the error occurs. No other changes–I simply hit Upload again, and it usually seems to work on the second try.

Any ideas?

Does this mean it is in the site folder where Freeway creates and
stores the HTML it makes from your layout? Please don’t put things
there yourself; Freeway expects to be able to make and delete
anything in there at any time it thinks it needs to.

I’m going to assume that this is what’s happened. I apologise if I’ve
guessd wrong! Anyway -

When you use an Action to include a PDF, Freeway will copy the
original PDF into the appropriate place in the site folder. If
there’s something in there already… well, Freeway’s in charge of
the folder, so it goes ahead and deletes it so it can put in the new
copy.

However… if the original file that Freeway wants to duplicate into
the site folder is also the file in the site folder that Freeway
deletes so it can put a copy in there…

Confused yet?

Heh. Basically, the moral of the story is don’t put anything into the
site folder, leave that to Freeway! Use the ‘Media’ folder - which is
not a ‘magic’ folder, it just exists to help you stay organised - or
any other folder you like. Apart from that site folder.

No, it’s in the folder where I keep all the user-created Freeway files for that particular project–where everything I’ve imported into the site (graphics, etc.) is located.

Sorry if that wasn’t clear.

Try going to Edit>Resources and hitting Resample All, then on the page
with the Link To PDF go to File>Force Republish and try re-uploading.

Hope that helps.
