Carousel help please

Hi,
I have just tried out Walters instructions for creating a simple carousel. Everything works fine but when I change for example text in one of the duplicated items it changes in all the other panes. I’m sure I have missed something blindingly obvious, but could anyone possibly suggest what I might be doing wrong?

Thanks,
Richard

It sounds to me as though the item that you think is in one of the
other panes is actually floating above the entire collection of
elements. Try enabling the Page view in the Site panel. (Click on the
word Site at the top, it will change to Page. Click the disclosure
triangle to the left of your page name if it isn’t already down-
pointing.)

Click on the item you are trying to change, and note where it appears
in the hierarchy on the Page panel. If it isn’t “nested” in with the
other elements of your pane, that’s the entire problem right there.
If it is, then could you please post this somewhere for dissection?
Just publish the site, I don’t need to see the Freeway document.
Please make sure that HTML Code: More Readable is on in your Document
Setup: Output preferences

Thanks Walter,

It was the Page view thing. Why does this make a difference if you don’t mind me asking?

I don’t understand the question. Toggling from Site to Pane only
changes the level of detail that Freeway shows you – it never
changes what gets published.

What matters is that each pane be a self-contained element, that all
of the elements that you expect to slide together as a single pane be
grouped into a single unit. The easiest way to do this in Freeway is
to draw the elements as nested. The other way to do this is to draw
all of your sub-elements within a single pane as inline elements, but
that’s trickier to do.
