Carousel too fast?

The website and homepage is also outfitted with the Perch CMS.

That shouldn’t affect anything – different domains (JavaScript and PHP).

Well, let me know what you find. I’m not showing any errors in Safari now that I removed the TypeKit code.

I saw the same error on my test page as I saw on your site. This may be a Safari 6 thing, I hadn’t tested any of these Actions since that came out.

Walter, it may have been TypeKit. I was going to use it on this site and decided not to. I just removed the TypeKit code and I’m not seeing any errors.

Hey Walter, I added the ScriptyFader action. What are all these files entitled _photo1.html, _photo2.html, _photo3.html that are now in my root directory?

That’s how SF works. Instead of hiding your animated elements on the same page (as Carousel and NewsCycle do), it carves them off and puts them in external files. This has the benefit of making your main page load faster, but with the other hand, it takes away SEO quality based on the content of those “partial” files. So don’t put anything in the effect that you care about for search engines, because the bots won’t be able to index them.

Hmmm. I’m not crazy about all those extra files (must be my OCD kicking in), but I guess it is what it is.

Walter does SF have a navigation button option like Carousel?

Not for previous/next, just direct navigation (use the SF Thumbnail Action to denote each one).

Do you have an example of the thumbnail action?

The little figures in the upper-left of this page are each a thumbnail: Jumping Fourth Graders

Do they have to be thumbnails of the images I’m using?

No, they can be any sort of image. I can’t recall if they can be HTML boxes, probably not.

Images of buttons, sure. They can be empty blank gray boxes if that’s your thing. They will all be faded back to 40% opacity except for the one that’s currently in the main area.

For some reason ScriptyFader got screwed up and started adding a letter to each of my images on upload, however FWP didn’t recognize the letter code. When I renamed the uploaded file without the letter code everything works fine. Why did this happen?
