clearer jpegs

i’ve noticed that when viewing my freeway pro website that the jpegs i saved from Illustraor files aren’t as clear as other website’s jpegs. is there a way to make sure jpegs are clear w/o having loads of memory to do it?

First of all, a link to a page showing your graphics would help a lot.

Pending that, my guess is that the graphics are better off as GIFs
rather than JPEGs. However… are you making JPEGs from Illustrator
or letting Freeway do it? I recommend importing native Illustrator
files [*] and letting Freeway do the web-optimising work. All you
have to do then is decide whether they should be output as GIFs
rather than JPEGs. Or maybe just raise the quality level of the JPEGs
that Freeway will generate.

[*] If you’re using Freeway Pro you can import almost any kind of
file, including TIFF, native Photoshop and Illustrator, and PDF -
Freeway wil make web-optimised output from your imported images.
However, if you’re using Freeway Express your import formats are more
limited. I suggest using PNG rather than JPEG, so you’re importing
better-quality originals. Freeway will still output JPEGs (or GIFs)
unless you tell it otherwise, regardless of what kind of files you
import.
