Clicking an Email Link Without Having an Email Client

Since I’ve always used and email client, Thunderbird in my case, what happens when someone clicks an email link on a site that doesn’t have an email client on their computer?

If I click and address, I get a Thunderbird mail window. What does someone that has a Gmail or Yahoo! mail service get when they click on an email link on a web site?

We’re having a problem with some test software where the student is to email the answers to the teacher, but they are having problems if they don’t have an email client.

Not really a Freeway problem, but I’d figured I’d ask.

If they dont have an email client then there is no automagic happenings - but they will be used to that.

Not something I would be concerned about.

I get a Compose window in Gmail opening. Not sure how it’s configured,
to be honest. Could depend on the browser.

Could depend on the browser.

And whether you were logged into a Google account or not.
