I’m going to create a website for a friend. He’s an architect, so he’ll need a nice image gallery. As I’m doing this as a favor, I don’t want to spend the rest of my life adding new projects to his gallery page every time he asks.
So, what I’m after is a way of creating a gallery page that he can add projects to himself, perhaps with a small bit of text to go along with each image set. The ideal scenario would be a gallery main page, with sub pages for each project - a bit like mine here - http://www.heterarchy.co.uk/galleryheterarchy.html - any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I have built sites for 2 photgraphers http://www.jcosmont.com and http://www.corneliedejong.nl and an artist http://www.simonnelhermitte.com
They are all are built with software available through Jalbum http://jalbum.net/en/and placed on the site in an iFrame. In two cases they have a jalbum account and upload their modifications to the server via the ftp built in to Jalbum. I do it for corneliedejong but she could just as easily do it herself. Jalbum has a wide range of album types - they call them skins -so plenty of choice. The albums are set up by me as required on the owners computer then future modifications are simply drag and drop and then ftp.
It would be nice to see this option in Showcase ie the site owner has a copy of Showcase which has an inbuilt ftp like FW and so can add or subtract images and upload them at will. (any chance Softpress?)
I tweaked the css and navigation arrows to suit my layout.
The Pulse admin allows for drag and drop image uploads - the biggest problem I have with the client updating images, they have no idea how to make them the correct size.

Marcel Can you tell me where you tweaked the CSS? I am testing out Pulsepro galleries for a client and would like to be rid of the black background -as you have obviously done. So far my tweaks have done nothing!
Either find this CSS file in your Pulse install and modify (or delete) the background style or simply override it in the pages with a gallery on them;
For example add the following as a markup item in the page head (before end head);
Regards,
Tim.

Thank you Marcel for taking the time to do that. Your CSS together with Tim’s guidance has allowed me to start weaving my way through to the result I am after. Kaleidoscope http://www.kaleidoscopeapp.com/ (which Todd mentioned a while back) made comparing your version with the original very easy although I realised later I could also have played spot the difference with Textwrangler.
