CMS, WEBYEP Problem

Hi,

I’ve asked this before but didn’t get an answer…and now I really need it!!

Basically I used Freeway Express 4 (so no CSS) to design this website: http://www.bogbainfarm.com/home.php - the problem is that (as you can see) the client is typing too much text in the latest news bar (left) and this is causing the ‘Explore Bogbain’ Menu at the right to break up…

Is there any way to avoid this? For example is it possoble to stop the Menu from breaking up but allowing the white background to expand?

Many thanks in advanced,

Fergus T

Sure. If you draw an HTML box over the top of either the right or the
left side of your page layout, then send it to back (Item / Send to
Back) you will create a nested table area under one side or the other.
Make sure that this HTML box is at least one pixel wider and taller
than the items it surrounds. What this will do is isolate that part of
the layout from the rest, and keep changes on one side from pushing
down the other.

You might also experiment with using the Height Can Shrink setting on
various elements in your layout, this can do similar magic.

You could try grouping the menu on the right. Select everything from
the graphic above Explore down to Visit Our Corporate Section and go
to Item>Group. This will make a parent item for the items you selected
(so essentially they will all be contained within another item), just
for safe measure make this new item longer than the text on the left
so when the text on the left grows it doesn’t force other items in the
table structure to get pushed down.

I hope this helps,

Joe

Hi, thanks for your replies.

I’ll maybe use that on other pages but for the latest new bit I decided to use this website: Best RSS, Social Media Widgets for your Websites | FeedWind to create a rss feed new reel…which works well and means that they just enter blogs and it will come up automatically - this will prevent putting too much text into the bar which is handy
Thanks again,

Fergus
