Copy actions features

I thought i saw it sometime, but am not sure… is there a way, you can copy an action, like when you have 100 pictures who need to have a single action on each and evrey one of them, is there a way, you could copy the specific action’s items and place them on it ( every single one of your picture without having to fill in every single specific thing about the picture you wanted?

I am working on somthing i ( afher finishing) realised i wanted to do something with, ( like a lightbox from weavers action suite, and i am not so very keen on putting the action on 100like picture’s… ( not even to lazy, but also to little time today )

i hope i explained it right :0)

Hi Eus,

The best way to do this is to set the Action up once and then
duplicate it by either using copy and paste or the Duplicate feature.

I hope this helps.

Joe

It’s possible to use an action to target and adjust parameters in
other actions either on the same page or over the whole site. I’ve
played with this concept in the past and worked on an action called
Action Master that attempted to control other actions from a single
action. I seem to recall that Peter Gutbrod was instrumental in
getting the action working with other action types and added some
great improvements to the code. I’ve just dug the action out and have
added it to Actions Forge (http://www.actionsforge.com/actions/view/147-action-master
).
The action isn’t perfect as all of the control values are mapped to a
standard text field regardless of the original’s type. For example a
checkbox value will show up as ‘yes’ or ‘no’ rather than the original
control type. For checkboxes this isn’t an issue but for other, more
complex, control types that don’t map too well to text the output can
be ‘interesting’!
Anyway, give the action a go and see if you can get it to update some
of the values in your 300 actions in one hit.
Regards,
Tim.

I’ve just updated the action to version 1.4a which (hopefully) extends the time
before the application gives up on the action. It’s available on the
ActionsForge site as before.
Regards,
Tim.
