could not open because file format is bad

I had a hard disk failure, but was able to recover all my files using the program Data Rescue.

Unfortunately, now all mu Freeway files won’t open… I get the error “could not open because file format is bad”…

the funny thing is, the backups open… and I can work and re-save under a different name, but THESE newly named files, though they appear saved and they appear to have all the information, won’t open and give me the same error message. I was actually even able to work on my site, update & upload the files, but then wasn’t able to re-open the original file! Again… the backup of an OLDER file opens… but not the file with the changes I just made.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Did you re-install Freeway from scratch, or are you using the “rescued” copy to do this? I think possibly the fault is in your application, rather than your documents.
