CREATING HYPERLINK ON JPEG (E-CARD)

Hi, I Need some advice!!!

I want to send an Xmas E-card that is a m4v file. I’ve placed this in a FW page and uploaded to the web!

But to get to this page, I want to send a simple mail out to clients containing a jpeg with a simple “click here” that re-directs you to the M4v file!!

Can you simply add/embed a hyperlink to a jpeg and mail it? If so how?

Or even a link to some text within the mail…e.g CLICK HERE takes you to www.yourdomain.com

This sounds simple, but is it a case of using a facility like mail chimp to do this!??

Thus, the invite (jpeg image) is sent via mail chimp… which contains a hyperlink to www.yourdomain.com

Or is there a simpler option?!!!

If you create a simple web page and add your jpeg / text then upload it, you can then goto Safari and click File>Mail Contents of this page.
This will allow mail to send out your newly created page as an html email, taking with it all your hyperlinks.

Send tests to yourself to make sure it works for you.

Hey Nathan, thank you that worked a treat!!!

I knew it would be something simple.

One more quick question, I’m trying to upload a quicktime (e-card) .mov file… 3.1 MB in size.

It initially takes a few seconds to load, is there any way to make this load quicker?

Not really other than a smaller file size…

I’m no expert with .mov but there are a couple on this list that are, maybe they will pick this up?

How did you put this together?

Hi Dave it was a .mov file which was hen edited in keynote & exported out as a.m4v file, then uploaded to youtube.

I copied and pasted the movie number from YT and inserted it using youtube pro action item from the insert dropdown!

Maybe the number is incorrect (Lp_hjP8p5_k)

here is the YT link:

Strange - it works for me with movie ID Lp_hjP8p5_k but only if you refresh the page once you get there (Safari)

I think this is a question for support(at)softpress.com

This is one I did before http://www.deltadesign.co/scripty.html

and http://www.deltadesign.co/youtube.html

Do either work for you?

Yeah, both work!!

It had crossed my mind to use the scripty action but due to the resolution once scaled up and the fact I really wanted it to auto play upon load and loop if possible I opted for the youtube option.

The file size of 3.2 MB is also an issue as to try and load the .m4v file directly takes about 10 seconds to load!!! Not good!

I know in an ideal world you would build this in flash, but to build this in flash from scratch even if you had all the elements is a chore when you can buy a similar solution off the shelf for a few quid or free!!!

I’ll mail support for advice!!!

Thanks Dave

Both of these are linked to the files on youtube.
