I’m a big fan of the Before & After stuff by John McWade. He does use Adobe sw, but his stuff is really focused on design, not technique.

creativeness is a gift from above! Sure!

My piece of advice would be to go to a nice place, take your time,
focus on what you want to express with your site,
sketching something with a pencil or with colour pens.

Kevin. What’s great about Freeway is that it gives you a big blank canvas ready and willing to accept just about any kind of creativity you throw at it. It’s amazing how easily in Freeway you can put together all this artistic stuff without worrying so much about code and the like. I started out by throwing everything at Freeway. It was a mess, but it looked pretty. Now that I’ve learned a little more about the technical side, I can clean up some of my messes. The cool thing is Freeway still lets me make messes if I want to. I like that. Kids will be kids. Here’s a very good site with gobs of design stuff. http://www.smashingmagazine.com/
