# css menu alignment

I’ve set up the new css menu and it works pretty well. The problem is the client doesn’t want the menu in boxes, doesn’t want line dividers between items and wants the 5 main menu items distributed evenly across the page under the header box.
Can any of this be done?

To remove the outlines of the boxes and the line dividers, de-select the options “Borders” and “Item Dividers” in the CSS Menus settings on the Actions palette.
The width of the menu is governed by the setting Main Menu Width, which is in ems. At the default setting of any browser (both Mac and PC), one em is equal to 16 pixels, so in order to decide what number to enter for this setting, take the total width of the header box in pixels, divide it by 5 (the number of menu items) and then by 16. It looks like your header is about 780px, so you’d need to enter 9.75ems for the Main Menu Width.

Thanks Michael. that did the trick. I was trying to get rid of the border in the inspector.
