css menu help

I was just approached with a question.
not sure how to attempt it. See below…

Is it possible to make the css menu submenu’s drop down, instead of to the right? How would i go about doing this?
would it have to be rollovers?

If they did that, they’d cover up the items below which, if you’re
only interested in the drop-down bit might not matter much, but if
you were looking around for links, might be a bit annoying?
