If I sent you a page - could you test for me?

Still waiting for Softpress to get back to me… When I sent an email to Softpress via their form on their website - I do not get a confirmation email? Is this normal!? Not sure they have even received my email…

Sure, I’m happy to help.

The Nav aint working throughout…

That is weird. All of my sites are hosted with GoDaddy (sorry guys),
but I have never seen that message. Before I had my own development
server I used to preview sites for my clients using subdomains
(http://drbogue.com.previewdns.com), which it looks like you are
doing.

I wonder if the fact that you have two .com’s in the URL has
anything to do with it?

No reason why it shouldn’t have two, but some badly written DNS
resolver may get confused by it.

Sorry no this is about the Softpress online form - I just sent you the FW files via email address you have on here?

Cheers!

Justin,

I just contacted Softpress through their form on your behalf and got the confirmation email. Apple Mail filtered it into my spam folder, so maybe that’s where they went?

Expect to hear from Softpress!

I just tried to publish the FWP document Justin emailed me to help him diagnosis his GoDaddy issue and FWP crashed.

I take it that was because I have none of Justin’s resource files, hence FWP can’t publish anything. Is that correct or am I doing something wrong?

If you publish with missing resources, Freeway will use the embedded “proxy” that it uses on screen as a substitute. It won’t be as high quality as the original, but it will work: everything will be there, more or less, layout-wise.

So, why do you think FWP 6.0.5 crashed? Is it possible to upload a FWP document without publishing?

Uploading will automatically publish if it needs to, so no, this isn’t the reason.

That must be the case. The whole load of CCS menu styled named #fwNav1 styles in the head of your document have been striped out. Assuming both URL’s are using exactly same Freeway file uploaded GoDaddy must be doing this.

There are other differences in the code on the page the CCS menu does not work it has blah… So GoDaddy is messing you around here.

I think what we’re trying to say is that you will have to present an ultimatum to your client:

  1. They host on GoDaddy and have a broken navigation.
  2. They go somewhere else for the hosting. Please avoid hosts owned by EIG, they have terrible off-shore support and oversell themselves: Endurance International Group - Wikipedia

I dont think this is an option. So FW6 and GoDaddy do not work???

Or you could ditch the menu Action and manually create the menu code so you can organize it [the code] so GD doesn’t &!^$ with it. Other than what Caleb suggested I don’t know what other options you have.
