Custom border problem

I sent this bug report to Softpress; to be doubly sure I’m repeating it here.

  1. Draw an HTML item on the page

  2. Use the Inspector to give this item a custom border.

  3. Choose “Top, Red, 10px” and “Bottom, Blue, 10px”. Leave Left and Right at “None”.

  4. On the page in Freeway, there are red borders on the top and bottom of the item + blue borders on the left and right sides. When the page is previewed, there is just a red border at the top of the item and a blue one on the left side. It is now impossible to edit these borders: in the Inspector all options are greyed-out for this object and there is a little eye icon with a red line through it. Clicking on the eye icon has no effect.

A kind-of-a-hack temp fix. I ran into the same problem in another thread and if you’re in a bind position like I was, a simple solution would be to:

In the inspector palette change the HTML box to a GIF and then switch it back to HTML. In the inspector palette you should have your border options back. Select a border for all sides from the drop down (don’t hit custom) and then after you do that select custom and then change the colors to whatever you want and width as well. For borders that you don’t want “bordered” set the width to 0px manually in where it says “1px” and then it’ll do it correctly.

Hope that helps until we can get that bug smashed in the final version.

Thanks for the tip, Mitchell.

Unfortunately, I can’t use it to correct the custom borders in a file I have imported from Freeway 4. If I try to change the HTML box to a GIF, I get the message “All child non-graphic items will be deleted. Continue without undo?”. I’ll keep that file in Freeway 4 and wait for the bug to be corrected in version 5 before importing the file for good.
