Walter, have you lost it?

Perhaps a U.S election frenzy?

Indeed.

As a Chicagoan I can tell you that having such a positive and
wonderful historic event take place in your own backyard is
especially thrilling. First Lincoln and now Obama…you go Illinois.

I’m around Chicago as well Todd and was watching FOX and seeing how crazy it was downtown.

My girlfriend actually met Obama (shook-hands with him) at the train-station during the early parts of the campaign. Crazy, who knew.

Nobody to celebrate with here in the Red state of Tennessee. I’m just
happy my Obama sign didn’t get shot out of my yard.

I think that the single most important referendum we’ve seen here is that we (as a nation) have gotten over this idea that our president shouldn’t be smarter than we are.

I never forgave the Bush/Rove/Cheney presidency for foisting mediocrity on our country, and especially for using fear and greed as the primary tools to sell us that particular flaming bag of dog poop.

I’m all about a meritocracy.

I guess I’ve grown cynical in my old age. I hope Obama is all he can be, and am glad that he seems to be an intelligent, intellectually-curious person, but I’m also concerned that all those battles lost over the past eight years (and longer) won’t be turned around. I keep thinking, “we’ll see.”

I’d take that a step further- Bush and his accomplices (including the folks who reelected him) are guilty of far greater crimes than and damage to our country and internationally than I can describe here.

Yes, the witches are dead, let’s not repeat the mistakes.

Amen. The next five words I hope to hear spoken to Bush et. al. are these:

##“Will the defendant please rise?”

Oh…I was hoping to hear the three words:

“Take him down.”

It is a very small world indeed; what America does affects everyone
in no small way. Thank goodness there will now be a US president who
understands about diplomacy, discussion and statesmanship!

(And anyway, I may live over here and sound ever so dashed English
doncherknow, but I’m actually a voting American. I for one am
delighted with how things finally turned out.
