Good grief! No. You don’t need Flash for anything any more.

Walt, sounds good … but on my site (you know it) the smooth scroll down with anchors wont work if Flash is not installed. (Hate Flash)

Have a look at the SmoothScroll Action on ActionsForge. It uses JavaScript to make the effect. Make sure to remove any other technique you are already using before you apply it.

Link?

Did you apply the Action to your page?

How did you define your scroll-to anchor points? What HTML level is your page set to?

Could you please post a link to the page? That will tell us what 20 questions will not.

Here’s a smooth-scroll page build with HTML5. Anchors are created by checking the name of the item you want to have as your target in the Inspector, and then formatting that in the link as an ID-based Anchor: item1 in the Name/ID field in Freeway equals #item1 in the URL field of the Hyperlink dialog.

I don’t know why the sides are jumping over as they do – could be to do with the way you’ve sized or constructed the rest of the page – but the effect is absolutely working fine here as far as making the anchor links move smoothly from one to another. And I do not have Flash installed on my computer. I don’t see anything in your page that would require it anyway – you have no swf or flv files in the page at all.

Thank you Walt. (I’am testing the possibilities of construction pages and their effect on google etc.) It can be that it has nothing to do with the page itself. I assume that the error is on my computer somehow. By the way I jumped from page 7 in Google to page 1.
