Domain transfers

You wouldn’t believe I’ve been working in this field for as long as I have when I ask such dumb questions…!

I recently transferred a domain name from a friend. I took it into an existing account I hold with Company A, while I set up a new hosting account with Company B. Company A were very helpful, and set up the forwarding to the present home of the site itself (on Company A’s servers) while the DNS records updated themselves.

I’ve now negotiated the domain transfer to Company B. It seems to have taken place, but the URL still points to the old location. I can’t figure out whether it’s just the DNS propagation that’s slow, or whether I need to remove the forwarding that had been set up by Company A. Does the forwarding transfer with the domain across companies?

I’m confused, and it’s Friday. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Okay, I think it’s solved now. Partly the problem lies between
operator and keyboard!

Cheers
