duplication and actions

Morning chaps … this is either something that can’t be done or me doing it incorrectly but I have an image that I’ve applied 'some ‘glow’ to I’ve then duplicated it 3 times and change the picture in the duplicates but when I add ‘pic in new window’ I get the same big image in all instances, this is because when I distributed / duplicated them I had them positioned so close to each other that they have become ‘one’ - I understand that and could spread them apart a bit more but prefer them to be close to each other, they don’t appear to be a ‘group’ could someone explain this effect to me please and if there’s a way around it (ie make them all separate again) many thanks Roger

Morning,

The images of which you speak are close enough that FW is naturally trying to combine them, and then only using one Action instance from the source images. The Glow adds some graphic space that may not be apparent to the user, likely causing some overlap.

On the Inspector’s first tab, with one of these images selected, you will notice a checkbox titled: ‘Combine Graphics’ Unchecking this will ‘force’ FW to slice these graphics into discrete files.

FYI: This combination (or lack there of) can be revealed if you toggle on the menu item: View > Outlines. With this ON, your ‘combined’ graphics will have a single dotted line around both graphics; whereas separate images have discrete outlines.
