Anyone care to recommend an inexpensive external DVD burner?
Preferably one you actually own and use.

I have and use a Lacie DVD/CD burner it’s a bit old but still works. Dual
Firewire/USB
I have an even older [9 years] Lacie DVD burner in which the drive had
failed, but I’ve put a new bare drive into it and now that works fine.
Firewire only. This was their first Firewire offering Lacie did.
I think LG do an external burner and I guess that would be fine because the
replacement bare dive mentioned above was an LG one [PATA internal
connection].

I’ve bought many no name brand externals for cheap and all work fine. Some were Firewire, some were USB. I don’t you have anything to worry about.

Hi Todd, I just bought a Freecom drive. It has firewire and usb. Cost £40 inc vat and delivery. It burns dvds really quick. I’m very happy with it.
