E-product variation

Hi. Reworking our website in 6.0.4, outputting in HTML5, and just discovered out e-product variation selections are no longer making it from website to shopping cart. I tried deleting the menu item and remaking it, adding “value” content which the current site doesn’t seem to need, and I still don’t get a selection showing up in the cart.

Any suggestions?

Thanks, David

Not sure how you have put this together but the size selector item is not included within the Form tag that sends to the cart.

The action/form appears to be within the shopform Div - rather than applied to it.

David,
Okay, I’m pretty sure I don’t know what the last part of that means, but to answer the question implicit in the first part:
I created an HTML item and applied the E-Buy Form action to it. I then created to child items, and applied the E-Buy Button action to one, and to the menu item, I applied the E-Product Variation action. I have done this maybe fifty times on the current our web site, and in FW v5.6 it works fine. I have tried recreating the item both as an inflow child item and as an absolute child item, and it makes no difference. Within Freeway, everything looks fine. The shopform says (has variations).
I just opened a page from the v5.6 site in a browser, and it worked perfectly. I opened the same page from 6.0.4, and it failed. Nothing changed between the two versions except the output. I guess I can try going back to HTML4 and see if that works. Quel retro!

David,

I just output the site in HTML4, and that had no effect. It’s something about v6.

Changing the code from this:

$495
Choose Style (6938) Three diamonds (7456) Two blue diamonds (6939) One blue diamond
Ring
Ring Size Size-4 Size-4.5 Size-5 Size-5.5 6-Do not size Size-6.5 Size-7 Size-7.5 Size-8 Size-8.5 Size-9

to this:

$495
Choose Style (6938) Three diamonds (7456) Two blue diamonds (6939) One blue diamond
Ring
Ring Size Size-4 Size-4.5 Size-5 Size-5.5 6-Do not size Size-6.5 Size-7 Size-7.5 Size-8 Size-8.5 Size-9

does the trick, but the real trick is to get FW to output it that way. I’d hate to have to go back to v5.6. Any help would be appreciated. Below is the working page.

Thanks, David

Thats what I meant about the options not being within the Form tags.

Sorry - not had a chance to look at this in v6 yet - will try tonight.

Thanks. Main point there is that outputting the same page with the two different version is the sole reason for the differences in the resulting code.
I appreciate your help.

OK David - just tried this in FW6 and had no issues using e-product variation.

Any chance you can send me just the single FW page i8294.html

A page can be copied from a FW doc into a new otherwise Blank FW doc. If you then do a File>Save Archive you will get a neatly bundled folder that includes all your mixings. Zip that resulting folder and email it to me - my email is on my People page at FWT.

This may be a construction method issue that doesn’t translate well to v6.
