I’ve had a pair of these custom made in the exact same colors as the
ones featured near the top (directly under “ES49 Custom Fit
Earplugs”). These things are SO flat, sometimes I can’t even tell
I’m wearing them.
Which attenuation level did you get? That site mentions 9, 15 and
25dB. If I do much more festival panorama shooting I should do
something about this. And I do want to enjoy the music too, so the
yellow sponges aren’t my favourite option.
At the moment I occasionally use some Shure ‘in-ear monitor’
headphones, but that means having the cable to deal with as well.
It’d be better to have a pair of dedicated reusable plugs I could
keep in a pocket of my pano camera bag.
I got the 15 dB, they also came with “blanks” that are unrated but supposedly don’t let sound through. They do, just not as much. If you’re up close at those festivals, you might want to get the 25 dB. Of course, they’re interchangeable, so you can get more than one level.
Another thing, you can get adapters for these that work with the Etymotic ER-6 headphones, replacing the flanges. The adapters are really cheap, < $15.
