editing pallets

Is there a way to edit individual colors in the pallet and save the edited pallet with a file? I’m going nuts trying to create custom colors for files and record the exact specs for each color. There’s got to be a better way, but I can’t find it.

Custom palettes can be created in the Color Picker. The following is just one way; there are many variations on the theme.

For example, if the custom palette is to include a dull green colour:

In the Color Picker palette, click the ‘Color Sliders’ icon (second from the left).
In the drop-down menu, choose ‘RGB Sliders’.
In the value fields, type Red: 70, Green: 120, Blue: 100.
A dull green appears in the colour swatch/well below the icons.

At the foot of the Color Palette are a grid of small squares. Drag the dull green from the colour swatch into the grid. Position the colour over a square and release the mouse. The dull green appears in the grid. it will stay there permanently, but can be moved, or replaced by a different colour.

If the dull green is to be used in a specific palette of colours, open Intaglio’s Library and create a new page. Name the page appropriately (‘Country’, for example) and drag the dull green into the Library.

If the colours you want to use (and/or add to the Library), are in a photograph, open the picture next to Intaglio and in the Color Picker, press the magnifying glass icon to the left of the colour swatch. Click the magnifying glass on the colour in the picture that you want to use. Whatever you clicked appears in the Color Picker colour swatch.

Many thanks. And I’m curious–is this anywhere in the help stuff? I
hate to bother people with questions I could’ve answered for myself.

Concerning help stuff, there must be something, somewhere, but Apple seem to have it hidden away…

I’ve not explored the CP much, but Google found some useful info. The robinwood page (url below) describes how to create a custom palette in the Color Picker:

Press the Color Palettes’ tab—the third from the left—create a new list in the ‘List’ drop-down menu, name it and drag colours into the window below the List menu.
